"Them other boys don't know how to act..."

Last night, the Futuresex/Loveshow rolled into the nation's capitol for a very special evening at the Verizon Center. "Very special" because, well, I was there.

After pre-gaming including excellent small plates and pom-filis from Zaytinya and a display of Jill's premier table-getting skillz, me and my girls hit the show and got to our seats just as JT hit the stage. Totally perfect timing.

The boy danced and sang and played and seduced and indulged and did everything a man with a captive audience of 20,000 ought to do. He did pretty much all of the FutureSex/LoveSounds album, plus the highlights of Justified, and one or maybe two 'NSync songs (still haven't figured out what the encore was). He told tales of his visit to Walter Reed the day before, and the inspiration he found in the dedication of America's armed forces, but he didn't make it political. He did not do "A Special Christmas Box" though I saw at least one group of girls armed with a giant sign that read, "Dick in a Box" in tin foil. And to add to the goodness, at the end of SexyBack, he rocked a go-go version of it. Chuck Brown would've been proud, but I don't know that most of the audience got it.

The show also had some excellent swag available for those of us not really ready to spend $35 for a t-shirt one can only wear to the gym. So I am now the proud owner of a Futuresex/Loveshow mug which will clearly need to sit on my new desk over on 15th St. and a JT magnet. All for under $20 (WOW!). It was quite an awesome night.
